Mistress Of The Mist
Lost in the dreams of sailors,
Carried by those who travel far;
Tossed like a third-class mailer,
Although she has something to say;
Fragile as the heart is crystal,
Open for the world to see;
As elusive as the wind is wistful,
And tonight she's here with me.
Chorus:
And the rain is falling softly down
In a vision of her amber crown;Calling me to close my eyes
And ride the breath of angels.And the story dances on the wall,
By the light of candles in the hall.And I can hear her ghostly call,
As she vanished in the night.
She's my mistress of the mist,
And I'm haunted by her kiss.
She comes to me in twilight
Just before the day has broken.
And she lays me on a bed of stone
And loves me gently as her own;
Then leaves me breathless in my dream,
Before a word is spoken.
Chorus:
Now for all the dreams that chase my soul
And drive me onward to my goal,
The one thing I will never know
Is why we follow blindly.
And life could steal my everything,
And leave me naked in the rain;
But I would sing my breath away
For my mistress in the mist.
Chorus:
